About Ilya Kazakov

Originally from the Sakha Republic, I am a digital artist and illustrator currently based in Paris, France. With over 20 years of experience in the creative industry, I spent a significant part of my career as an Art Director before fully dedicating myself to illustration and independent projects in 2019.

I specialize in compelling visual storytelling, character design, and frame-by-frame animation. My background in art direction allows me to understand commercial briefs deeply and bring complex concepts to life through a distinctive visual language.

Beyond commercial work, I have been actively exploring new media and digital art since 2021. This journey has allowed me to exhibit my personal work internationally in galleries across Paris, New York, and Montreal.

Currently, I am open to new collaborations with brands, publishers, and creative agencies worldwide. My long-term aspiration is to expand my practice into publishing illustrated books and directing short animated films featuring my original characters.

When I’m not at my drawing tablet, you can find me birdwatching, brewing a great cup of coffee, or traveling.
